Resourced Provision for Speech, Language and Communication Needs
We have a successful Provision for pupils with Speech, Language and Communication needs. All pupils have an Education and Health Care Plan for significant speech and language impairment.
The calm, secure and nurturing environment is ideal for pupils to grow in confidence and provides children with the support and high teaching ratios required to progress in all aspects of their learning and development. Pupils have weekly access to a Speech and Language Therapist who provides ongoing support and assessment. Individual Speech and Language Therapist programmes are delivered by our highly experienced Learning Support Assistants who work very closely with the Therapist and the Class Teacher. During the school week pupils access the mainstream lessons in the afternoons to engage with their peer group and access other areas of the curriculum with support from the Resourced Provision staff. The children make great progress and are actively involved in all aspects of school life, including trips and residential visits.
