Welcome

It is my privilege to welcome you to the Federation of Bedenham and Holbrook Primary Schools, and an honour to serve as Executive Headteacher.

We are immensely proud of the journey we have taken to become two schools with one shared vision, where children are at the very heart of everything we do. Staff across both schools - including Heads of School and the SENDCOs - work closely and collaboratively to foster a culture of high aspiration for every child. The fluid movement of staff between the schools enables the sharing of expertise, strengthens consistency, and supports continual school improvement.

Together, we provide a rich, engaging and carefully sequenced curriculum, delivered through our unique learning environments and extensive facilities. Teachers from both schools plan together during shared PPA time, ensuring that pupils benefit from the same high-quality curriculum and experiences, including trips and residential visits attended as a Federation. Our curriculum is designed to inspire and excite children, equipping them with the knowledge, skills and personal qualities they need to embrace all opportunities, both now and in the future.

We place great value on learning beyond the classroom. Our location allows us to take full advantage of the beautiful Hampshire countryside, panoramic coastline and rich naval heritage on our doorstep. Set within natural, tree-enclosed environments, both schools offer pupils from Reception to Year 6 regular opportunities for hands-on outdoor learning that builds confidence, resilience and self-esteem.

Inclusion sits at the heart of our Federation. We celebrate diversity, encourage individuality and independence, and work tirelessly to ensure that every member of our school community feels valued, supported and included.

Strong partnerships with parents and carers are essential to our children’s success. We are committed to open communication, value feedback and ideas, and operate an open-door policy to support this shared approach.

I hope you find our website informative and helpful. Please do not hesitate to contact us if you require any further information.

Sharon Freeley, Executive Headteacher
